A deluxe pedicure goes above and beyond your average nail touch-up for your toes. This luxurious experience includes a soak and sugar scrub, cuticle work, nail clips, trims, and your hard skin or calluses are scrubbed off as well, as a relaxing paraffin wrap applied at the end. A deluxe pedicure even includes a lower leg and foot exfoliation and hydrating Shea Butter massage cream.
A deluxe pedicure can take a while, up to 30-90 minutes depending on what techniques the nail technician is using. There are also a few do’s and don’ts when getting your pedicure that you might want to know before heading into your appointment.
- Don’t paint or color toenails
- Don’t shave your legs beforehand
- Don’t cut your cuticles
- Don’t use a foot razor
- Don’t leave moisture in between toes
- Do schedule your pedicure as early as possible
There are many different kinds of pedicures if you aren’t sure that a deluxe pedicure is necessary for you. For example french pedicure, gel pedicure, paraffin pedicure, hot stone pedicure, fish pedicure, and a chocolate pedicure.
I’ll go a bit further into a few of these to find out which pedicure is the best fit for you!
What Is A French Pedicure?
The French pedicure is more of a regular pedicure, but after pampering and cutting your toes, the technician paints a white strip to the end of your nail with a natural coat of nude or light pink polish. This has been a rising trend in recent years and is a beautiful natural look for an everyday style.
What Is A Paraffin Pedicure?
A paraffin pedicure uses techniques to soften and moisturize your feet. Some spas even dip a ladle full of paraffin wax into a plastic bag and put the foot inside to then form the wax around the foot. This can help increase blood flow, relax muscles and decrease joint stiffness.
What Is A Chocolate Pedicure?
The chocolate pedicure is an interesting technique involving, you guessed it, chocolate as a foot soak, foot mask, and moisturizing lotion. Chocolate has many health benefits, including naturally moisturizing and firming the skin as well as being a powerful antioxidant. Plus it smells delicious!
Which Pedicure Works for you?
There are many other kinds of pedicures out there, but the deluxe pedicure is one that you’ll regret not getting done sooner. It’s a relaxing, blissful experience that leaves you with soft moisturized feet and relaxed muscles.
